Trader

Today we had a surprise visit from a trader. In our studying life of the Coastal Native people of the Pacific Northwest in the 1800’s, we have been learning about daily life, jobs, culture and art of the Native people. We have read about explorers to the region in 1800s. Our trader walked around and traded his goods for items we have made in the classroom. Thank you Peter Wihman for your enthusiasm as a trader. Check out pictures on our classroom website (https://sites.google.com/site/mrssarys4thgrade/photo-album)

What items were valuabe to the trader?

What items were valuable to the Native People?

How did you feel during the experience? What did you think? Do you think these were the same thoughts and feels of the Native American's during the 1800's?
