Harry Potter Exhibit- Guest Post

My friend's son Jack toured the Harry Potter Exhibit at the Pacific Science Center. Here are his thoughts...

Hi. My name is Jack and I’m 9 years old. I’m a 4th grader at Lake Wilderness Elementary (Maple Valley, WA about 40 minutes from Medina). I play sports, basketball and soccer. I like to play video games, especially Mario on the DS and Wii. I like to listen to music. One of my favorite bands is RunDMC.

I went to the Harry Potter Exhibition today, and I thought it was a great experience. It was very interesting to see all of the cool props and stuff. The beginning I walked into a dark room after being sorted into a house. The sorting hat chose Gryffindor for me! On the wall was a bunch of videos showed up from the movies, from the not scary parts to the scary parts. Then the Hogwart train appears. It was really weird, seemed like it came out of nowhere. And then you start the tour.

I really enjoyed seeing all the Quidditch uniforms. I also like the school uniforms and the other clothes of the characters. There was a fun game where you can throw a quaffle through the hoops, just like in Quidditch. I saw wands from some of the characters too, my favorite was Voldemort. The dark forest stuff was cool. I really liked how the showed a lot of the scary things that Harry has fought, like the gigantic spiders. Hagrid’s chair was insanely giant and his clothes were so big. The Tri-Wizard cup was so cool to see, it’s hard to describe.

I would recommend this to kids my age and other Harry Potter fans. And in case you buy the Harry Potter wand, it’s really noisy.

Thanks Jack!
