What is a Myth?
A myth is story about heroes or supernatural beings often attempting to explain creation, nature and human behavior.

 Myths have five different elements:
  • Characters (main and supporting)
  • Settings
  • Problem/conflict
  • Outcome (explaination of nature)
  • Dialogue.
Read some of the myths from different cultures on the Planet Oz Kids website: http://www.planetozkids.com/oban/legends.htm

  • American Folklore website: http://americanfolklore.net/folklore/native-american-myths/

  • What myths did you like? What is the title of the myth you read? What culture does the myth come from? Identify the 5 elements.

According to the myths we have read, why do crows say "caw-caw"?
